Typist Revolution

We assert our right to resist the Paradigm,
to rebel against the Information Regime,
to escape the data Stream.

We strike a blow for self-reliance,
  privacy,
    and coherence
      against
dependency,
  surveillance,
    and disintegration.

We affirm the written word
  and written thought
      against
multimedia,
  multitasking,
    and the meme.

We choose the real over representation,
the physical over the digital,
the durable over the unsustainable,
the self-sufficient over the efficient.

THE REVOLUTION WILL BE TYPEWRITTEN

-Richard Polt, 2015.

In the past two decades the world has moved on rapidly. New inventions, products, and methods but, is this too much? I ask as someone who called cyberspace and the internet my home, I feel more a citizen of the internet than my home country. However, even I can see there is a growing shadow, a force of evil, addiction, and lies. It all started with large scale social media.

In the early 2000s, the internet I grew up with everything was small and individual. If you wanted something you had to make it yourself the large platforms sanitised and took that away from us. It created a space more suited to bots than humans. Then during Covid-19, short form media destroyed the world. Shorting attention spans and lowering global inteligences.

This is my shout to reset, revert and remember. This site was the start, a small individual self owned page of things I like returning to classic small social media. But more importantly I want a space to talk about how I remove addictive and unnecessary tech from my life.

The prose to the side needs to be more widely spread. It's a declaration; to not accept the changes forced upon us, progress for the sake of progress isn't always good. The internet was a brilliant invention, social media, not so much.
